Camagüey, Cuba, June 11.- The personal exhibition Like any other afternoon, the plastic artist Oscar Rodríguez Martínez, is open to the public until the end of August in the room La Nueva Musa of the Julio Antonio Mella Provincial Library, in the city of Camagüey.
The curator of the exhibition, Juan Carlos Mejías Ruiz, said that the engravings and other works made in mixed technique that make up the project are characterized by rich intertextuality and are dedicated to the 56th anniversary of the cultural institution.
In addition, added the specialist, the pieces point without fanfare on the front line of an art that has much in common with the treasures that makes available to readers the Provincial Library, texts as well, with very special characteristics to face their reading.
The personal exhibition Like any other afternoon, there are 26 works of small and medium format in which the creator urges the spectator to enjoy a reading to try to find the direction in which the elusive tropes work.
Oscar Rodríguez Martínez uses metaphors of all those experiences that he rescues from oblivion and presents them as stories “as apparently simple and innocent as if we were talking about – say the curator – of any afternoon”.
